Departure
Lying in a vivid field, the nodding heads
of blossoms filled with bees surround me
Above, in the gathering night,
an orange moon hangs close enough to touch
A handful of earth in each fist, I arise
Scattering fistfuls of earth, I am rising
I have walked out of my life
Shed all of my skins, naked and shining
Leaving behind
my red dress fading in a field of flowers
the marks of my hands in the warm earth
I have walked out of my life
discarded elaborate raiments
Now to ascend that airy cobweb stair,
travel to the right side of the glass
Sail boatless through the realms of air,
across that green glass ocean.
of blossoms filled with bees surround me
Above, in the gathering night,
an orange moon hangs close enough to touch
A handful of earth in each fist, I arise
Scattering fistfuls of earth, I am rising
I have walked out of my life
Shed all of my skins, naked and shining
Leaving behind
my red dress fading in a field of flowers
the marks of my hands in the warm earth
I have walked out of my life
discarded elaborate raiments
Now to ascend that airy cobweb stair,
travel to the right side of the glass
Sail boatless through the realms of air,
across that green glass ocean.
